PCI-DSS
The right payment solutions provide you with stability and your customers with peace of mind.
Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance refers to the standards companies must adhere to for protecting customer credit card data that is transmitted through card processing transactions.
PCI standards for compliance are developed and managed by the PCI Security Standards Council. The PCI Security Standards Council is a global forum that was launched in 2003 for the management, development, and maintenance of standards for payment applications and credit card merchants.
If any business wants to store, process, or transmit credit card data, they must follow various guidelines, which are known as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
PCI Compliance is compulsory for any organization or company that accepts, stores, or transmits cardholder data. It does not depend on the number of transactions, and therefore many businesses should ensure that they meet the PCI Compliance standards to avoid penalties.
PCI Compliance requirements
PCI compliance requirements are spread over four levels based on the volume and number of transactions processed by your business. However, some standards apply to every business regardless of the transactions, so any company that processes cards should be PCI compliant. A Qualified Security Assessor will perform annual audits to level 1 and level 2 merchants that process more than $6 Million annually.
